Together with a broad spectre of collaborators, our purpose is to contribute to innovation where new technology intersects with agricultural, forestal and aquacultural industry based out of the region of Trøndelag. Norway in general, as well as Trøndelag, is yet to establish a platform focusing on creating new industry, new businesses and new jobs alongside our main industries based on the challenges we face during our times, where technology is the main force behind innovation and development. Technology used in the Norwegian main industries today is primarily imported, this being services and goods which could just as well have been developed and produced domestically.

Ard Innovation is approved as a commercialization actor at The Norwegian Research Council, and operates as the Technology Transfer Office on behalf of The Norwegian Institute of BioEconomy (NIBIO) and Norwegian University of Life Sciences (NMBU). The company assist both students and employees at these institutions with commercialization of research and student-based ideas, in addition to promote innovation and entrepreneurship in general. The company has currently 7 employees.

InnoRate is a H2020 project that aims to facilitate tech-driven SMEs showcase their potential and access more easily financial solutions necessary to scale and grow. Towards this aim, InnoRate introduces a novel service platform that evaluates and benchmarks tech-driven companies based on the well-established Korean Technology Rating System, that has a track record of assessing over 200,000 cases and helping SMEs acquire more than EUR 75 billion. The platform bears the signature of nine leading institutions from six European countries: Q-Plan International, TechTour Global, Ernst and Young, European Business and Innovation Centre Network (EBN), Jolt Capital, White Research and Ontotext. These institutions came together over a period of 36 months in the quest of making an unrivalled platform that uses cutting-edge technologies to evaluate and benchmark the potential your company.

Katapult Ocean‘s vision is a thriving ocean in harmony with economic development. To fulfil this, Katapult Ocean invests in and supports startups with a positive impact on our oceans. We do this through our ocean impact accelerator and the Katapult Ocean fund. Similarly, we create positive awareness of the great business opportunities in a sustainable ocean. We have made 23 investments in exciting ocean tech companies from 14 countries. All our portfolio companies take part in a 3-month long accelerator program out of Oslo, Norway. We have a global network of more than 100 mentors supporting this. In addition to this, our Katapult Ocean team based in Oslo, Norway and San Francisco, US. A fund with international investors (Norway, Sweden, Germany, the Netherlands, Canada, Singapore) back the investments. We have built a platform to push the green shift in the ocean industries. Though, our impact is much bigger than the direct investments we make. We work with corporates and investors to encourage more investment, piloting, and engagement with ocean tech startups. We attract interest from start-ups all over the world. Currently, we have a pipeline of more than 1000 ocean technology start-ups. We have launched our report the Blue World Perspective with an overview of the global landscape for ocean impact startups.
