About the Tech Tour:

The ETT was formed by Venture Capitalist Sven Lingjaerde in 1998 and launched a new format in 2010.

What is the new focus?

Geographic regions rather than single country events.

What is the new format?

The change in format entails grouping the European countries into six regions.

How often will we visit each region?

We will visit each of the 6 regions on a 3 year rotation, versus 4 to 5 years in the previous format.

Why?

This change will extend the opportunity for entrepreneurs to meet international investors more frequently and facilitate investor access to a wider range of start-ups. It also reflects the changing VC mindset looking more and more at cross border investment opportunities.

What are the new regions?

  • Nordic TT: Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Estonia
  • UK and Ireland TT: England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales
  • French & Benelux TT: France, Belgium, Luxemburg, Netherlands
  • DACH TT: Germany, Austria, Switzerland
  • Southern Europe: Italy, Spain, Portugal, Greece, Turkey, Croatia
  • Discovery TT: Israel, Russia (soon to include more from Eastern Europe)

    What will happen to the Vertical Summits?

    As well as the regional Tech Tours the ETT runs 4 vertical industry summits. These summits focus on specific industries and will be run on a two year rotation:
  • Web & Mobility
  • Cloud & ICT 2.0
  • Medtech
  • Cleantech

    The three year calendar, beginning in 2012 will look like:

  • 2012: French & Benelux TT, Discovery TT, Medtech Summit, Cloud & ICT Summit
  • 2013: UK & Ireland TT, Nordic TT, Cleantech Summit, Web & Mobility Summit
  • 2014: DACH TT, Medtech Summit, Southern Europe TT, Cloud & ICT Summit
